Design and illustration

I truly enjoy the contemporary genre of books that allow famous villains to tell their point of views. Being able to see a story from multiple perspectives that complicate existing views is an essential strength for not just a designer, but for a human in the world.
As complicated as Hook’s story is, how we all know him is not. While one tries to stay away from seeing the word “hook” and showing it, here I wanted the rough ink illustration to speak to the unsteady nature of the tales we think we know.
